So, Anime You Like Lately

DanMachi anyone? Turn your brain off and its fun, otherwise, its your bog-standard harem fantasy/clueless Martin Stu protag.
Then, once you have absorbed the lesson, that your so-called "friends" are nothing but meat sacks flopping around in the fashion of an outgassing corpse, pile all of your dice and pencils and graph-paper in the corner and SET THEM ON FIRE. Weep meaningless tears.

Nanoha ViVid is continuing. Most recent episode: punching, followed by lasers. Next episode: lasers, followed by punching.
Seriously, this entire episode consisted of a family-and-friends group sparring match and Nanoha defending her position against the new kids and giving Subaru flashbacks.

So, I just started watching Ghost Hunt.... And the jokes are completely lost in the English dub... Whoever did that should be kicked in the balls, and then have their kneecaps removed.
I mean, they just start laughing when John starts talking and don't make any mention of his accent, which was the whole point of the original joke, because Kansai is hilarious.

Gilgamesh being the main boss behind EA explains so many things it is scary.
And in the year 3000 the Holy Grail war will summon Steve Jobs with his iSword ducking it out against Bill Gates and his Blue Screen of Death.

No, that's UBW Gil. HF Gil is a fucking jabroni with no real bearing on the plot or motivation..Longes wrote:No, HF Gilgamesh: Only I have the right to wipe out humanity.maglag wrote:Heaven's Feel Gilgamesh: I must save humanity from the corrupted Holy Grail!

He appears briefly and is eaten. I don't think we get much insight into his motivations on that route.

He complains about the Shadow (or whatever they called that corrupted Grail blob) killing people since that's "his job" or something like that, then gets eaten by it.

Is Teen Titans! Go any good? Why or why not? Feel free to use reasons like 'it's not like the original show' if you must, but I'd rather have reasons that go beyond it.

Your freedom to add and change rules in the middle of the game is in direct conflict with my ability to understand that rules system before I decided whether or not to join your game.
In short, your entire post is dismissive of not merely my intelligence, but my agency. And I don't mean agency as a player within one of your games, I mean my agency as a person. You do not want me to be informed when I make the fundamental decisions of deciding whether to join your game or buying your rules system.
It's much, much sillier and kid-oriented.
They put in some nice references and the like--a video game episode was pretty slick. It's weird to watch because it's mostly comedic misadventures instead of the whole action thing Teen Titans rocked.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

Really Loving Food Wars. I admit my taste may be shit, but I find it hilarious.

The show is good, if you considered getting your testicles hammered against the wall would be a good use of your time.Lago PARANOIA wrote:Is Teen Titans! Go any good? Why or why not? Srsly though, the canon defilement makes my childhood cry.

I watched Toradora recently. I am still new to the slice of life/rom-com genres in anime, so I am watching old "classics" I really really really really really liked it. The high schoolers totally act like dumb highschoolers all the time about everything. And it works nostalgically for me for that reason while other anime don't.
Also:
EDIT: Longes, could you hyphenate your FUCK in the fourth post. It is creating a scroll bar on my smaller monitor.
Also:
The lowkey gay and gay/bi girl stories resonate with me super hard, and I really like the whole thing with Ami where she feels like a bad guy for most of it, and you are supposed to think that she is a "villain" just trying to get with Ryuji like everyone else, but really she is on the viewers side in trying to set him up with Taiga, and as you get to know her better, you see all her past actions in a new light, where she is still acting in her own self interest, but is trying to get everyone to realize the truth with her attempts at sarcastic cuttery. While it was slightly ruined for me because I caught the gay subtext way too soon, that sort of "secret" reveal can easily be done wrong, but I think was done very well.

So, Durarara Season 2 part 2 (of three) has started up, and man, I thought that they'd used up their supplies of creepiness and shocking revelations, but no, they've managed to top themselves again.
